1906-1966 Jack McConachie
Born in a croft near Carron, Spey Valley, was taught Highland dancing as a boy, progressed, and at age 20 moved to Glasgow and the tutorage of Robert Cuthbertson. At age 30 years he moved to London and over time and with the help of his wife Jean was able to establish The Strathspey School of Dance and turned fulltime teacher in 1949 using his knowledge of Old Tyme, American Square, Scottish Country and Highland Dance.
